Conversion of barn into three cottages

Church Paddock, Scawby, North Lincolnshire

This project involved the repair, extension and conversion of existing agricultural 19th century barns into four new 2/3 bedroom residential units.

The existing barns are located close to Scawby Hall and were formerly in a dilapidated state. Extensive repairs and upgrading the existing building fabric was carried out during the project. Traditional materials and construction methods were used in order to preserve the original character of the building.

Much of the design emphasis was to utilise existing openings as much as possible, in order to minimise the number of incisions within the historical building fabric.
